One women’s vision . . . The International Day of Peace

Sep 11, 2008

Our theme for 2008-2009 is  “Women’s Voices, Women’s Visions”

To kick off this theme we have invited Michael Johnson to share about
One women’s vision . . .

The International Day of Peace (observed on Sept. 21)

He will share the history of this day, how Avon (pronounced Aven) Mattison started with her vision for a global peace in 1981 and how it has evolved into an international event. We will have collaborative a sharing session about what we can do to make a difference to support a culture of peace. Please join us for this informative and inspiring event on this day of observance on September 11.

Michael Johnson serves as representative for Pathways to Peace at the United Nations in New York.  His major focus at the UN is to support the global expansion of the International Day of Peace and to continue to develop the Culture of Peace Initiative (CPI). The CPI is a network of over 3000 organizations worldwide devoted to peace building activities. Pathways To Peace helped to initiate the International Day of Peace in 1982.

Inviting Emotional Freedom

Oct 14, 2008

Given the turmoil in our financial and political world today, each individual might assess what she can do to forward peace and stability.

  • We need strong leadership.
  • We need energy to forward positive actions.
  • We need strength to help ourselves and the nation through these times of trouble.

In order to do that, we need our focus and personal energy. One of the ways to make sure all possible energy is available to us, is to heal those issues that sap our energy. Energy drains are things like guilt, frustration, phobias, anxiety, fear, anger, grief. These emotions are natural, however they frequently drain our energy so that it is not available to be the warriors for peace and light that we can be.

Carol Ramsey, an experienced Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) practitioner will present an overview and demonstration of this easily learned, self-applied, “psychological acupressure” technique. You tap on specific acupressure points while thinking of what you desire to heal.  EFT is capable of producing rapid and effective changes in emotional responding by acting on the body’s energy system.  EFT is used successfully on such issues or conditions as anxiety, stress, fears and phobias, negativity, obsessive thoughts, impaired sport performance, aftermath of abuse and trauma, physical symptoms and pain, addictions, unwanted habits and even everyday irritations.  Healing is self directed and self paced. The results are typically long-lasting or permanent. Originated by Gary Craig you can find more information at http://www.emofree.com.

Reverend Carol Ramsey, LCSW, M.Ed. is an EFT practitioner located in Western Massachusetts providing workshops and private sessions. Carol brings to EFT years of experience in traditional and “alternative” counseling and healing techniques. Her intuitive style assists in choosing the gentlest, most effective style to use for each issue presented. As an ordained Interfaith Minister she is also able to offer spiritual interpretation where appropriate.

Annual Harvest Celebration

Nov 20, 2008

This is our time of coming together to express our gratitude for the many blessings that we have received during this year, to remember how precious and miraculous is the earth and all her creatures, and to share these blessings with each other.

We will create a beautiful harvest alter together. Please bring something to place on the alter to signify your own harvest and growth this year. Your songs, poems, music, and words are& also welcome as well as any fruits of harvest, flowers, candles etc. For our Potluck meal please bring a dish that represents nourishment from the abundance of our Mother Earth.

This Program is being facilitated by Satyena Ananda, Co-founder and Director of Starseed Healing Sanctuary and Retreat Center in Savoy Ma. Satyena is a Holistic Educator and Spiritual counseler who has spent the past 38 years creating and offering programs, retreats and ceremonies with women that transform and restore body mind and soul.

Dip Into the Celtic Cauldron

Dec 16, 2008

Every woman holds within her the sacred flame of the Divine; the Celtic perspective aids in our getting in touch with that and rejoicing in the outcome.  Celtic Women’s Spirituality can be one’s primary path or an addition to your present expression.

Join with us as we take a peek at Celtic Spirituality, women’s role on that journey and a celebration of the Winter Solstice in that perspective. Come to the Celtic Cauldron:

  • to taste and see
  • to savor the flavor
  • to celebrate the richness of the brew
  • for the Cauldron is endless and its nourishment never runs out.
